Being the founder and President of Hawaii Real Estate Investors, I can’t stress enough the value provided by being part of your local real estate investors club. Real estate investor clubs are common across the country and can be found in most major cities. Some of you who live in more rural areas may have to travel a bit to make it to one of the club meetings, but you will be well served by doing so.
Most real estate clubs are an affiliation of investors ranging from beginners to advanced, and part-time enthusiasts to full-time professionals. The club’s purpose is to create an environment that fosters ethical investing, great networking, and learning in topics such as locating, buying, financing, renting, managing, maintaining, selling, and/or exchanging real estate for investment purposes.
You can find these types of clubs with a simple Internet search by using phrases that include the city and or state you’re looking in followed by keywords such as “real estate investment/investor club/group/association.”
Once you locate a club, it’s just a matter of becoming a member and getting involved. Being a member is all about education and learning from the other members and the experts. Most clubs are dedicated to bringing in only the best national and local educational speakers in order to keep you informed on up-to-date real estate investing innovations, laws, and techniques.
In addition, where else can you network with “hands on” investors who are willing to share their knowledge and experience? If you are considering the world of real estate investing, you owe it to yourself to become a member of your local real estate investors club.
